Sukuk al-Wakalah

Agency-based sukuk rail where the issuer acts as an investment agent (Wakil) managing a diversified portfolio of Shariah-compliant assets on behalf of the sukuk holders. Returns are generated from the underlying asset pool which may include tangible assets, Ijarah receivables, and Murabaha receivables. Sukuk al-Wakalah has gained significant popularity as the preferred structure for sovereign issuances, offering flexibility in asset composition while maintaining Shariah compliance and secondary market tradability.
